I reviewed Sufjan Stevens's BQE suite for Pitchfork. I didn't mention it in the review, but the film/modernist musical ode mix reminded me very strongly of Aaron Copland's composition for the 1939 World's Fair documentary The City. Put on your idealist spring jacket and have a look .
